The Terror of Dry Skin

                                                                         My Go Too Moisturiser

What happens when you spend over a month in a country where its 36 degrees everyday without fail, and the humidity is around 70-90%. Well i can certainly tell you what happened to my skin! Florida is uncomfortably hot in June/July,  its like a sauna as soon as you step outside the comfort of your air conditioned apartment, i felt like a dog stuck in a car on a hot day with no windows open it was that bad. Now admittingly there are some great points to the climate out there for example my skin was spotless in terms of breakouts and blemishes. My pores had responded well to the humidity and i was so pleased i barley wore any make up for my entire time there. However air con was my enemy here, after no more than 3 days since I arrived my skin started feeling tight, itchy and very dry. So what did i do ? Start moisturising like mad, morning and night. Now i really wasn't expecting much from this product , Ive used plenty of the daily essentials range before and have ended up disappointed with a few of their products. But this particular product is good it does what it says on the box. "Intensively moistures & nourishes for a soft skin feeling". I couldn't of put it better myself. After days of using this my skin felt smoother , fuller and fresher than it had before. The dryness had completely gone from around my outer eye area and across my cheekbones, leaving just a small patch on my eyelids. It really worked, the particular one I chose to use was for dry and sensitive skin, from time to time i do suffer from area of sensitivity on my face and some previous products I've used have been to harsh. However this proved to be  perfect its not harsh in any way its creamy texture perfectly soothes any dry or sensitive areas you may have along with smelling nice it feel great too, its a perfect product i can say no more.

London & Paris

Rimmel London BB Cream £6.99      Loreal Paris Nude Magique  £9.99

  London & Paris

You know when you are coming to the end of your foundation/s and your preparing to either be a bold explorer and try something new or stick to your same old normal boring one. Well this happened to me 2 weeks ago , I was stumped  even after going to countless makeup counters and trying a few new light coverage foundations they just weren't what I was looking for. So time was running out and I was determined to find myself something!

After contemplating wether or not I could actually go without foundation i came to the conclusion of no just in case your wondering. Especially with my skin I needed some sort of coverage. What did i do? Well I ventured out and bought myself a BB cream. Now not going to lie to you I have always been skeptical to this 9 in 1 amazing cream that sorts all your problems out, but in saying that Im a real convert. This cream is pretty amazing.

The BB cream keeps my skin moisturised and leaves it feeling soft and silky. But also provides enough coverage to hide blemishes and discolouration in my skin. Its a great product for summer if you don't want something too heavy on your skin and your looking for a quick fix to add some coverage. Ive been adding a small amount of concealer along with this just to those stubborn areas on my face where I have a breakout or two. It can be quite shiny on your skin but in my opinion just dusting over a small amount of loose powder to those areas you want to be more matt will work fine. If your looking for a good quality product but you don't want to have to fork out too much money then i recommend this little gem. Ive been using it most days and it has practically replaced my normal foundation routine. But still Im a foundation worshipper so instead of buying a high end foundation i chose to give the Loreal Paris Nude Magique foundation a go.

My friend starting talking about this product to me back in February after she had read some article about how it was practically the same as a more expensive high end product. Next swell we know what happens next she went ahead and got it and here i am following suit. Unfortunately its just not for me, now don't get me wrong my friend adores it but we have different skin types and different preferences to what we prefer when it comes to foundations. This product is just to watery for me it literally pours out the bottle like milk its to runny to work with a foundation brush so you have no choice but to use your hands or maybe u would get away with a sponge? As you expect with something so runny the finish of this product is shiny and dewy, yes its workable but even with my dry skin i still don't want to look like i have a shinny greasy forehead. The colour may say porcelain but for those of us blessed with fair skin i wouldn't recommend this it has a warm undertone to it that made me look a little off set and a tinsy bit orange. No one ever wants to look like a pumpkin. Overall this product is raved about for being lighter than water and yes I totally agree with that but its just not for me. For the price though its worth a try cause you may end up loving it!

Finally Found A Lil Makeup Storage Thing.... :D

Vanity Storage Box from The Range £11.99
This has been on my list of things to buy for months, after looking through countless stores I actually fount one! I was so happy and ended up immediately purchasing it. Honestly it was perfect and everything I had been looking for, the chic design and jewel draw handle adds those shabby chic finishes that every girl needs in their life, who doesn't like a little bit of shabby chic here and there. Now admit-tingly this doesn't fit my entire makeup collection but it fits this season's essential's and all the things I can't go with out.

My mac lipsticks fit upright and are easily accessible with out having to jumble around in my makeup bag or draw its like a dream come true. The depths of each section vary slightly which is handy for some taller products or even products you wish to stack. You even get a little draw which is a pretty decent size. Personally I opt to keep some mascaras, concealers and a few miscellaneous products in here. If you over fill it your back to fumbling around searching for that one pesky lipliner again. After all I'm trying to make my life easier here not more time consuming :)

This is an amazing find for me I really wanted a new but tidy way of storing my makeup within easy reach, now this gorgeous contraption sits proudly on my desk. At a bargain price of £11.99 I would recommend it to anyone as its a great buy! Amazing quality for the price you pay its a steal really!

Apocaliptic Love

Rimmel London - APOCALIPS

So last year I had a mini obsession with these bad boys and it wasn't just me all my fellow girlies were also enthralled by them. Bright colours , amazing shine and a somewhat long lasting effect. They were perfect and I think i have lost count on how many I have bought. Here is but a few of my favourite colours of the collection. Apocaliptic this is a pinkish red tone lipgloss/stick under certain light you can really pick up the pink tones but in other dimly lit rooms I feel it can be quite red which is great if your looking for that multi tonal look for the day & night. Nova is a cute pretty pink colour it compliments most skin tones although I feel it may look better on lighter skin tones. With my very light skin tone. This is one of my daytime lippys that i tend to just throw in my bag and grab when I need it , as it goes with mostly every thing colour wise. Now Luna is a lot lighter than it shows in the image more of a light peach than an orange. Its great for this seasons morange lippy trend it would work well as an extra gloss over a lipstick. Such as Sweet & Sour By MAC which I recently purchased the other day.

So whats it like to wear and does it last. Well Im not gonna lie these give an amazing colour considering the glossy nature of them. The colour is vibrant and very versatile it literally just glides on perfectly with the applicator. But I have worn this on many nights out and the only downfall is it gets everywhere and I mean everywhere. My hair always ends up sticking to my lips then to my face and all of a sudden I have lipgloss all over my face. Trust me its very frustrating trying to get red lippy of your face without ruining the rest of your make up. So yes for me it was quite a big downfall and I did seem to have to keep reapplying this every hour after drinking. But don't let that put you of because overall this is an amazing product that me and my friends love and use very often, between us we have tried most of the colours in this collection and none of them disappoint. Basically this is a must have essential that you need in your make up bag!! Maybe just tie your hair up :D

Candy Yum Yum

Very Matte - Long Lasting

So what can I say about this wondrous colour. Well quite a lot actually its a eccentric, vibrant, gloriously matte Barbie Girl pink. Its definitely a pouter, this colour has so much to offer its bright its fun, its long lasting and very well pigmented. If your looking for a lipstick that will last all night no matter what your doing, wether it be drinking cocktails with the girls or smooching some hot guy it will stay on no doubt about it. Trust me i have tried and tested it. So yes its a bit bright and yes some people don't like it but personally when I first tried it on in the store I fell in love i was looking for a lipstick that would take the place of my usual red lippy routine, and this fitted the bill perfectly it was fresh and surprising. I would recommend it to anyone who is brave enough to try out something bright. Candy Yum Yum is a darish colour it isn't for the faint of heart and if your more into your natural pinks and peaches then clearly you wouldn't go for this. But if your like me and you love your lips to stand out then buy this! No seriously do it you wont regret it! But before that there are some cons about this particular lipstick, I fount when it came to taking this lipstick of it was very stubborn it is indeed long lasting but that long lasting I had to scrub my lips countless times before it would clear. Even after scrubbing I fount that it still leaves somewhat of a stain to your lips which I feel is due to the high pigmentation in the lipstick. But overall this is a great colour form MAC!!

Blush for the Summer.

Mac Pro Long-wear Blushes. £21.00 Link

So summer has finally arrived and who knows how long it will last. So this year i am making the most of the glorious sunshine and getting out there. These are some of my MAC Pro LongWear Blushes which i have been using this spring/summer. My favourite of the 3 has to be Rosy Outlook its just enough of the peachy tone to give a nice glow to your skin. Me being so pale and all i cant really get away with using bronzer on my face, that being said i still do! But most the time i end up using very soft tones on my cheeks. MAC blushes are truly amazing if your looking for something that will last on your skin these pro-longwear are right up your street. I tend to apply my blushes especially these tones with a large powder brush, i know i know why not use a blush brush or even a buffering brush, well here's why, i always end up plastering way to much on with those i seem to be much more careful when using a larger brush. I know weird right i apologise, but anyway back to these blushes. If your looking for that nice summer flushed pink i would recommend Stay Pretty. Now i feel this colour is very build able. In the day i brush a sparse amount over my cheekbones and then during the evening for a more intense colour i will just add a small amount more to my cheeks creating a lovely evening look. Now Stay By Me is one of my newer colours i bought this while i was in America while i was there i was hardly wearing any make up and wanted something i could just add to my cheeks to give it some peachy-ness... And i loved it , i would even go as far as saying its one of my favourite purchases this summer.
